The Chef’s Table Culinary School

While staying in one of our luxurious Uvita vacation rentals, why not join one of our culinary demonstrations or book one of our green season hands-on culinary packages? As part of your unforgettable rainforest experience, you'll take with you a collection of sumptuous recipes for gourmet meals to tantalize the palates of your friends and family back home.

The classes and demonstrations take place in the large Restaurant kitchen, which has 4 workstations to take a maximum of 8 persons, keeping the classes small and intimate to ensure plenty of personal attention and hands on practice.

Sarah, the Owner of Villas de Las Aves and The Chef’s Table Restaurant will be your Chef and Teacher.

Sarah has been a Chef all her working life. She trained at the Cordon Bleu Culinary School in London and later went on to take her Master Chef Qualification there. Sarah also trained at Roger Verge’s Famous Restaurant “The Moulin De Mougin” near Cannes in the South of France.

Sarah has worked for more than 14 years as a Professional Chef on Prestigious Private Yachts around the world. She has a wide repertoire largely specializing in Top Class Mediterranean Cuisine which will be of interest to those who wish to increase their skills at entertaining or for food lovers who enjoy eating well at home.

Culinary Demonstrations

Culinary Demonstrations are not hands on but involve watching the Chef prepare dishes using the very best local produce available. Normally a demonstration lasts for 2 hours and is followed by an optional lunch or dinner, to include a glass of wine or soft drink.

Demonstrations include a leaflet with Recipes to take away with you and are for a maximum of 10 persons.

Culinary Packages

Culinary Packages are intensive hands on courses, which will give you an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the gourmet cuisine in question. You will learn everything about a dish from start to finish and take with you an exclusive recipe collection.

Culinary Packages include the Recipe Collection & notes relevant to your course & The Chefs Table Apron

One Day Courses: 6 hours, from 10am to 4.00pm

Two Day Courses: 10 hours from 10am to 3pm each day

Three Day Courses: 22 hours from 6 to 8 hours each day

Each day starts with coffee and home-made cookies and an introduction to the course and work schedule for the day. There will be a short demonstration followed by hands on supervised cooking of the dishes using a variety of essential cooking techniques. The day will conclude with a late lunch of the dishes prepared.

ACCOMMODATIONS AT VILLAS DE LAS AVES ARE ADDITIONAL BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO STAY WHILE TAKING A COOKERY COURSE YOU WILL RECEIVE A 30% DISCOUNT ON THE ACCOMMODATION PRICE & BREAKFAST WILL BE INCLUDED.

Five Day Cooking in the Jungle Package:

- Arrival Monday into Villa Paloma/Villa Colibri. Monday dinner at The Chefs Table BBQ night to include a bottle of wine.

- Tuesday: Guided morning walk at Hacienda Baru followed by an afternoon massage on the privacy of your veranda.

- Wednesday, Thursday & Friday three day cookery course, contents depending on schedule.

- Saturday: Morning trip down the Sierpe River to experience local mangroves with abundant wildlife. Saturday dinner at The Chefs Table Menu Gormand night to include a bottle of wine.

- Sunday departure.
